Behind every Twelve formula is Dr. Pedro Catalá.

Pharmacist, botanist, and cosmetologist, Pedro has dedicated more than two decades to the study of plants, cosmetic formulation, and the skin. His way of working starts from a simple idea: every ingredient has a purpose.

At Twelve, the person who creates the brand is also the one who develops its formulas. Pedro personally selects the ingredients and formulates each product in his own laboratory in Spain.

FROM BOTANY TO FORMULATION

Pedro’s relationship with plants began long before Twelve.

After graduating in Pharmacy from the University of Valencia, she continued her training in the Department of Botany at the same university. She later pursued a Master's degree in Cosmetic Science and Technology at the University of Siena, where she currently also teaches cosmetic formulation, and completed a PhD focused on new technologies applied to natural cosmetic formulation.

A professional journey that has combined pharmacy, botany, formulation, and teaching from the very beginning and which continues to define her way of working today.

TWELVE WAS BORN IN THE LABORATORY

Before becoming a brand, Twelve was years of formulation and development.

Pedro dedicated that time to creating formulas especially gentle on sensitive, reactive, or fragile skin.

His experience as a pharmacist in London, where he also worked with people whose skin was particularly sensitized, reinforced a conviction that still guides his work: efficacy should never come at the expense of skin health.

Twelve was born from this way of understanding cosmetics.
More than a decade later, Pedro continues to formulate each product from his own laboratory.

A NEW CHAPTER: TWELVELAB

twelveLab represents the natural evolution of that entire journey.

A new stage in which Pedro delves into research, formulation, and the knowledge accumulated over all these years, developing new formulas and revising others with a more precise perspective, always remaining faithful to the same way of understanding the skin.

For him, evolving does not mean moving away from the source, but rather continuing to ask questions, delving deeper into each formula, and finding new ways to unite science and botany.

twelveLab was born from that desire to continue researching.

To move forward without losing what has defined Twelve from the beginning: formulating with discernment, working out of respect for the skin, and giving every ingredient the importance it deserves.
